Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before…”
I am reminded of a story that I heard about a father and his daughter. They were driving home one day and it began to storm. The more they drove the worse the storm got. The little girl told her father to pull over and wait till it stopped raining, but the father said no and continued to press his way through the storm. A few minutes passed and the daughter suggested to her father to pull over again because there were other cars that had stopped; but once again the father refused and continued pressing his way through. After about five minutes the rain stopped and the sun was shining. The dad told his daughter to look back and stated that if we had stopped we would still be in the storm like those other cars.I shared that story to encourage us all that no matter how rough things may appear to be or even may be, we must continue to press forward. We all have had our share of storms, but we came through them. We must remember to keep reaching towards the things that God has set before us and forsake those that are behind us. If it was not for the storms that may arise (i.e. bad times) in our lives, we would not be able to appreciate the sunshine (i.e. good times). Continue to strive and press through those things that try to apprehend us, because with Christ within us we will overcome them. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!!!!
