On this past Sunday night as I set watching Celebration of Gospel listening to Donnie McClurkin and the choir sing Total Praise, I got excited within my spirit. The songs powerful ending lyric “Amen” resonated in my heart and soul. I found myself in a place of triumph and victory. That little word Amen means “Let it be so.” Amen expresses the faith we should have when we pray. Christ said, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (Matthew 21:22). Scripture also teaches us “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). If you are praying to be healed, believe it is so; Amen. If you are praying for deliverance, believe it is so; Amen. If you are praying for that new job believe it is so. If you are praying for a wayward child or spouse to find their way back to Christ, believe it is so; Amen. If you are praying for provision, believe it is so; Amen. I can go on and on with the different prayer requests, but I will stop. The point I am trying to drive home is for you to believe like the Samaritan woman. She believed what she asked for because she did not stop asking, but believed it was so. In response, the Lord said to her, “You have great faith. Your request is granted” (Matthew 15:28). I would like to say seal your prayer with heartfelt confidence and faith believing it will certainly be heard “Amen”!
