Commitment Saves By Fannie Pledger-Pettway

How can one commit to something he or she does not have the passion do it?   For example, Queen Esther did not want go through the steps that were required, but the love she had for her cousin increased her strength to go through and endure the process.  If she had not gone through the process, her family would have endured many deaths but because she did, and was committed, favor was upon her that covered her family.  God is faithful to us when we become committed to Him.  We never know who will benefit from what we do.  Therefore, when you commit, always remember your true commitment to something can save a life.

In our daily activities, we have to commit to something, whether it is to a job, school, marriage, lying, cheating, or un-forgiveness, it requires commitment.  Someone maybe wondering why I selected certain things, well regardless of what we do, it requires commitment whether good or bad, the choice is ours.  I love God but how can I do what is needed in the Kingdom if I am not doing what is required in my home!  1 Timothy 3:4-5 states, One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?).  How can I expect something from others that I am not doing myself?  Commitment requires dedication, willingness, understanding, passion, and honesty.

We must choose daily what our hearts love because when we know these things, we will do everything possible to do them.  Remember, just because you may not see an area of commitment does not mean the person is not committed.
