Faith to Victory By Kimberly McCants

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Matthew 17:20, KJV)

Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines Faith as the belief and trust in and loyalty to God. It also states that it is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof. Although the dictionary states that we do not need evidence to have faith, however, as Christians we do have evidence of our faith. Faith comes from evidence provided by God Himself. God provided signs and wonders so that people might believe in His Son.

The bible states in Hebrews 11:1, KJV, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Faith brings the things hoped for into your life.  It does say “Now Faith” rather than “Sooner or later” or “One day soon”. So that means for the present moment, right now, today. So because we have Faith, it simply means that we believe in the goodness of God and that he will reward us that seek after Him. We take God at his Word and know him to be true to his Word. As children, we had a lot of Faith. We believed whatever we were told. Whatever we wanted, we asked for and believed that we would receive it. We had expectancy in our hearts at all times. As adults, we should be like we were as children when it comes to Faith. We should completely trust and depend on God. Having that faith we had as children, we can stay determined regardless of what happens. We know that God will be faithful to his Word no matter what things look like or what comes up against us.

Romans 4:20-21, KJV: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Scripture tells us that faith without works is dead. In order to keep faith alive, we have to step out on it. Faith will not live inside of us if it does not get expressed through our actions and words. We all have been given a measure of faith by God. We receive more Faith when we hear the truth of God’s Word.

Romans 10:17, KJV, Paul declares "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". Faith is founded upon what the Word of God reveals. Faith is developed when you meditate upon the Word of God regarding Jesus.  Faith in Jesus that leads to victory must come from the Word of God. Because of the lack of faith, many people do not live victorious lives. Their faith is weak because they do not read and study the Word of God. Not only is their faith weak, but oftentimes they do not even know the teachings of Jesus that can help them to overcome the world. We have to put faith to use to keep it alive. Praise and Worship is a great way to put faith into action. Praise causes you to stand strong in faith even when thoughts and situations come up against the truth. Praise helps to keep your thoughts moving in the right direction, and can make you stable and strong.

In everything, give thanks to God. You will begin to feel that strength on the inside that will empower you to move forward into Victory. If you are praying and hoping for things, have Faith and believe that God is working things out on your behalf. Stand strong and declare that the victory is yours, right now! Let your words put action behind your “NOW” faith and receive His strength and power to see victory in every area of your life. Remember as I stated on Sunday, “My Name Is Victory!”
