What is Worship to you? By Keisha Washington

John 4: 23-24:  (23) But the hour cometh, and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the father in Spirit and in truth:  for the father seeketh such to worship him. (24) God us a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and truth.

In order for a person to understand true worship they first need to know what worship really is.  Worship is our response or tribute to God for being who he is in our lives.  Worship is our hearts cry when we abandoned all other things to follow Jesus.  Worship is an inward feeling and an outward action that reflects the worth of God.  Worship is Necessary.  Being in the presence of God takes us to a place that sets us apart from all others. And every time we draw near to Him, God draws near to us.

Psalms 29:1-2 says Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord Glory and strength.  Give unto the Lord the glory due unto hid name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

When you know of the goodness of God and all that he has done for you, you should be able to worship and praise him freely.  No one should have to pump or prime you to worship, but I encourage you to tap into the source, which is God.  When God comes in everything can and will change.  Real true worship is not scripted or follows protocol, but it comes from the heart and can take over a room like in a matter of second.  Have you had that encounter or experience?

Where and how you worship God is up to you, there is no rules on time and place. Just remember to commune with Him.  Some does in the morning before the start of their day.  Lamentations 3:22-23 says it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy Faithfulness.  For waking up each day is one reason alone to worship God for his goodness.  Your worship should be continual and intentional.

“For every mountain you brought me over, For every trial you bring through, For every blessing, Hallelujah, for this I give you praise”
