We have all seen or heard of the animated movie “Frozen,” which has a popular song entitled “Let It Go”. This song is immediately recognized and related to this movie because it has such a significant meaning. The movie was about Queen Elsa who abandons her kingdom when her uncontrollable ability to generate ice is discovered by the public. Once she left, Elsa realizes that she no longer had to hide her sole ability, and declares herself free from the restrictions she had to endure since childhood. Without this hindrance, she gained more control over her powers and created a magnificent ice castle for herself. She simply- LET GO!
Oftentimes we allow fear to control us. Fear of what people might say, think or even do, when we keep things bottled up. God wants us to leave our problems/issues with him so that fear factor will be obsolete. Letting go means being willing to allow life to carry you to a new place, not holding back and surrendering yourself. It allows us to find our true selves so we can be who God designed and created us to be.
Isaiah 43:1 states, “But now, this is what the Lord says- he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (NIV)
Here are some ways to Let Go and Move On:
- Make the decision to LET IT GO!
- Express your pain- and your responsibility
- Stop being the victim and blaming others
- Focus on the present
- Forgive them and yourself
We cannot change anything that happened to us so we must move on to finally be free and able to enjoy life!
So as we move further into our NEW YEAR, let’s GET FOCUSED, LET GO, and LET GOD!!
Have an awesome week!!!!!
