Psalms 86:15: "But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”
God is not only the God of second chances; He is the God of another chance!!! This is a relief because most of us mess up the second chance fairly quickly!! One of the great things about God's character is His incredible patience with us. Just as He is patient, forgiveness is evident also. Therefore, since God gives us second chances, we must give the same to others.

Giving someone a second chance means we give them another chance to earn our trust. But that does not mean we instantly forget what that experience has taught us. Trust must be earned over time, and will take time to re-build. Could you imagine life without another chance? When I think of having another chance, grace and mercy immediately comes to mind. Grace gives us what we do not deserve and mercy does not give us what we deserve! "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).
God allows these chances so we can fulfill the purpose he has for our lives. I know a lot of us battle with our purpose, but please know that once revealed, and accepted, favor comes.
In closing, no matter where we are, God is offering us a second chance. It doesn’t matter what we have done; how many times we have done it, God is patiently waiting for us. We should accept his grace, be filled with gratitude, and develop a thankful heart.
