Looking Forward By Veronica Grayson Smith

Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV) 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

This is one of my favorite songs right now. I listen to it a lot to remind myself to stop beating myself up because I make mistakes.

Forget your yesterday, learn from your mistakes, press forward, move forward;
It’s over, I came through it, God used it to make me better!!

Just a little Wednesday encouragement for us all!!!

Stop looking in the rearview mirror and look in front of you to see where you are headed. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s okay to be reminded of from whence you came, but not to stay focused on it. Use this time as a reflection of what was to appreciate your WHAT’S NOW!!! Once you do that, you can PRESS FORWARD to what is to BE!!!! A plane doesn’t fly backwards to get to it’s destination, and as far as I know it doesn't have the capability to do so; birds don’t fly backwards to get into the sky; there is a forward push and pull to rise up and soar. So when someone reminds you of what used to be, let them know that Jesus saw what I used to be, came and showed me who I am, and loved me enough to die for what I am going to be…REDEEMED AND FREE!!!
