Even The Best Man Suffers the Worst By JaMarcus White

Often times Christians look at their current situation and wonder "why me"? "Why" am I being punished? "Why" don't I have this car yet? "Why" must I struggle day in and out to maintain? What kind of God would allow his people to suffer? The real question is "why not you?"
In the Old Testament, you probably already read the story about a devoted man of God (Jesus) named Job. Job was the most upright outstanding man in all the earth who endured the worst calamities in a span of a few days. Whenever God gave Satan permission to attack Job's body, family, and possessions, Job continue to remain loyal to God (s/n: God will only allow Satan to go to the end of his chain). In the midst of these tragedies, he worshiped the Lord. And one of the most remarkable, prophetic quotes he uttered during this worship was: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." (Job 1:21) Job understood that he came into this world with nothing, and would leave with nothing. After losing everything he owned, Job still found a way to praise and worship the Lord. What is our excuse?
But how can a perfect man who lost everything in a space of one day still worship the Lord??? As God pointed out to Satan, Job "fears God and shuns evil". There was nothing Satan could do to make Job defy God. Even the peer pressure from Job friend's to curse God and die couldn't keep him from believing. He knew that God would protect him regardless of the devil's attempt to prove that Christians only follow God for selfish gain.
So I pose the question... Is your excuse for not praising God during hard times justifiable? Do you fear God enough to second guess your actions? Do you understand that God is only preparing us on earth to be with him in heaven? This is not our home, but a place of training. God will not put more on you than you can bare. Place your full-trust in him. Keep on truckin' and never look back. It's that simple!
