I am sure we
have all struggled at some point in our life, whether financially, emotionally,
physically, and or spiritually. A time when all of the odds seem against us and
somehow, someway, a miracle arises from out of nowhere. That small amount of
hope that sits deep inside of us causes an unexplained phenomenon, called
faith. The faith that make things happen. When we take the leap of faith, we
have to rely on the inner voice that is inside each of us. The part of us that
desires to do well, when the mind, body and emotions want to do something
else. The small knowing that despite
what we see, God has our backs and the situation is already worked out.
When taking
the leap of faith there are some things that we must do. First we must know and
believe without a shadow of a doubt that God is who He says He is. Although we
must do the work, He has the final and last say so. That God’s timing is not
our timing and that we must continue to do the work and have faith until the
shift occurs. After all, faith without works is a dead faith because the lack
of works reveals an unchanged life or a spiritually dead heart.
We must also
take care of ourselves. Just as we take care of the physical body, we must also
take care of the mental and spiritual aspects as well. What good is looking
good on the outside, but inside suffer from depression, anxiety, over-eating,
and so on. We must take initiative to work on “us” and be the best that we can
be. We must prepare ourselves for the greater blessings to come, by “having
faith” that it already is. For example, if a good job is desired, go ahead and
work like you already have it. Colossians
3:23 states, And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto
men; Do your work willingly, as though you were serving the Lord himself, and
not just your earthly master. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” When we do the work and preparation, when God
blesses us we will be ready. We are stopping many of our own blessings by lack
of preparation.
We also must
be around like-minded people and not compare ourselves to others. Being around
those that have the same beliefs as us creates a sort of safety net. When we
are weak, we have someone to encourage us, pray for us, and push us. What we
put in is what we get out, so we must be mindful of the company we keep. Not
comparing ourselves to others, but loving and accepting ourselves as God has
created us to be.
Taking a leap
of faith is challenging. It’s scary. But listen to the inner voice and go ahead
and manifest what God has already promised to you. Isaiah 55:11 11so is my word
that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will
accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
What He
promises will not come back void!
